Final Fantasy VIII Chips features Bokkadenci
Final Fantasy VIII Chips is due for release on September 19, unveiled earlier today on the Square Enix e-Store. The arrange album will feature chiptune covers of Nobuo Uematsu's compositions from the PlayStation role-playing game, reinterpreted in 8-bit style by Bokkadenci and Kplecraft.

Square Enix will be following up chiptune cover album Final Fantasy XI Chips with four additional chip music releases. Final Fantasy VII Chips has been added to the company's e-Store for release on September 19, featuring arrangements of music from the PlayStation RPG by Sexy-Synthesizer and DJ OMKT of SQ Chips.

Square Enix has renewed their official website for SQ Chips 2. The chiptune arrange album, treating classic Square game themes to 8-bit variations, will debut on July 25 in Japan, featuring chip remixes by Sexy-Synthesizer, Hige Driver, Hally, Saitone, Kplecraft, YMCK and Bokkadenci.

Streaming on the site is a chiptune remix of Nobuo Uematsu's "Clash on the Big Bridge," Gilgamesh's theme from Final Fantasy V, arranged by pocomeko. Other games featured in the compilation include Tobal No. 1 and Vagrant Story.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 co-composer Mitsuto Suzuki has uploaded to the Square Enix Music Blog a slightly modified sample of his contribution to remix album SQ Chips, Final Fantasy XII arrangement "PSG meets PS2."

Samples of five tracks from Square Enix's chiptune arrange album SQ Chips have been posted to the official album webpage. They are "Chrono Trigger" from Chrono Trigger remixed by DJ OMKT & MJ and "Battle 2" from Final Fantasy III by Hige Driver.
