Dead Space 3 unreleased music streaming online
Samples of each music track from the Dead Space 3 soundtrack, along with ten-minutes of unreleased music, are currently streaming on Qobuz and SoundCloud. The digital album, featuring music from the third-person shooter composed by James Hannigan and Jason Graves, is scheduled for release on February 12.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta music preview
Square Enix has uploaded a preview of Limsa Lominsa territory music from the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta. Music for the massively multiplayer online RPG, due to relaunch in mid-2013 on PCs and PlayStation 3, is by in-house composers Naoshi Mizuta, Ryo Yamazaki, Tsuyoshi Sekito and Masayoshi Soken.
Swery's GDC presentation on Deadly Premonition
Director Hidetaka "SWERY" Suehiro presents "Game Design in the Coffee" at the 2011 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, California. The talk on the making of Deadly Premonition, whose Director's Cut edition is due out in April for PlayStation 3, is free to view on the GDC Vault website.

Montreal-based studio Minority Media has uploaded to SoundCloud the music track "A Strange New World" from Papo & Yo. The full soundtrack to the PlayStation 3 exclusive, composed by Brian D'Oliveira of La Hacienda Creative, is available for purchase through the recently launched Sony Entertainment Network Online Store.
Heavy Rain composer Normand Corbeil dies at 56
Normand Corbeil, award-winning composer of the score to Heavy Rain, has died at the age of 56. The musician was scoring Quantic Dream's psychological thriller Beyond: Two Souls before succumbing to pancreatic cancer on the afternoon of January 25, following a five-month battle with the disease.
Indies dominate 2013 GDC audio award nominations
In addition to the five audio finalists for the Independent Games Festival, the Game Developers Conference has named three independently developed game titles nominees for the 2013 Game Developers Choice audio award. The nominees are Journey, Hotline Miami, Sound Shapes, Halo 4 and Assassin's Creed III.
Yoko Shimomura arranging music for Kingdom Hearts HD
Japanese language news site Game no Hanashi reports Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix will feature an enhanced music score, involving acoustic instrumentation, overseen by series composer Yoko Shimomura. The PlayStation 3 high definition remastering is scheduled for release on March 14 in Japan.
Composer Joe Hisaishi talks Wrath of the White Witch
In the latest behind-the-scenes movie uploaded to publisher Namco Bandai's YouTube Channel, Joe Hisaishi discusses his score for developer Level-5's PlayStation 3 RPG Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. The composer is perhaps best known for his contributions to Princess Mononoke and other Studio Ghibli animated films.

Lightning Returns single "Crimson Blitz" on iTunes
Square Enix has released "Crimson Blitz" through iTunes, featured in the upcoming RPG Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The two-minute arrangement of "Blinded by Light" appearing in the debut trailer is composed by Masashi Hamauzu, with a vocal performance by Mina.
Okami HD soundtrack excerpts on iTunes
In conjunction with the high definition digital release for PlayStation 3 last month, Capcom is publishing all five discs of the Okami HD soundtrack album as separate digital releases on the iTunes Store in Japan. Brief samples of each track from the first two discs are available to sample online.
Noisia's DmC: Devil May Cry samples online
Those curious to hear Noisia's take on Devil May Cry can now preview excerpts from the 36-track digital soundtrack to the reboot's score at Qobuz. A three-minute sample track from the album, due out on Division Recordings on January 8th, is available to download through SoundCloud.
Tomb Raider live orchestral trailer
The latest trailer for the Tomb Raider reboot was shown at the Spike Video Game Awards earlier this week, accompanied by live orchestration. Dead Space series composer Jason Graves has been writing music for the game in secret, while the musician's involvement was only made public last week through a video dev diary.
