Vagrant Story digital soundtrack on iTunes
Square Enix has released the 31-track digital soundtrack to PlayStation 2 action role-playing game Vagrant Story through iTunes, composed by Final Fantasy XII composer Hitoshi Sakimoto. An exhibition of illustrator Akihiko Yoshida's concept art from the game is currently on display at the Artnia Store in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
OC ReMix releases Deus Ex: Sonic Augmentation
Online game arrangement community OverClocked ReMix has released the compilation Deus Ex: Sonic Augmentation for free download. Participating artists include Deus Ex co-composer Alexander Brandon and musicians Zircon (Andrew Aversa), Jillian Aversa, Halc (Drew Wheeler) and Jimmy Hinson.
Olivier Derivière shares ObsCure game scores
Of Orcs and Men composer Olivier Derivière has shared the soundtracks to survival horror titles ObsCure and ObsCure 2, developed by Hydravision Entertainment. The composer is currently arranging recordings of the London Philharmonia Orchestra for the score to action title Remember Me, developed by Dontnod.
Naoshi Mizuta shares Seekers of Adoulin music excerpt
Square Enix in-house composer Naoshi Mizuta has shared "The Pioneers" in mp3 format, composed for the Final Fantasy XI expansion Seekers of Adoulin. The soundtrack album for the PC and Xbox 360 massively multiplayer RPG, released earlier this week in Japan, can be sampled on the official website.
Far East Recording's Ape Escape scores on iTunes
Soichi Terada of Far East Recording scored Ape Escape 1 & 3, whose soundtracks are available digitally through iTunes. The composer has more recently performed at Blip Festival New York and Tokyo as Omodaka, along with remixing music for the 25th Anniversary Rockman Techno Arrange and Rokko Chan Soundtracks.
Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster pre-orders open
Amazon has opened pre-orders for Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. The role-playing game's reveal trailer, featuring music by Nobuo Uematsu and Noriko Matsueda, is scheduled for release on March 25. The first round of screenshots have been posted to flickr.
Beatbox mashup blends Lost Odyssey/Final Fantasy X-2
Marc Junker has posted his second installment of Video Game Beats, mashups combining Alain Williams' beatboxing and Japanese role-playing game music. "Final Odyssey X-2," streaming on SoundCloud, blends piano themes by Nobuo Uematsu and Noriko Matsueda from RPGs Lost Odyssey and Final Fantasy X-2.
Yoko Shimomura arranging music for Kingdom Hearts HD
Japanese language news site Game no Hanashi reports Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix will feature an enhanced music score, involving acoustic instrumentation, overseen by series composer Yoko Shimomura. The PlayStation 3 high definition remastering is scheduled for release on March 14 in Japan.
Okami HD soundtrack excerpts on iTunes
In conjunction with the high definition digital release for PlayStation 3 last month, Capcom is publishing all five discs of the Okami HD soundtrack album as separate digital releases on the iTunes Store in Japan. Brief samples of each track from the first two discs are available to sample online.

In 2008, SuperSweep published three remix albums arranging tracks from the PlayStation 2 music game Technictix, produced by Street Fighter EX developer Arika. Technictix Remix Volumes 1 through 3 are now available stream in full on Bandcamp, featuring arrangements by Ayako Saso and Takayuki Aihara.

Atlus has released the digital album Persona 3 & 4 Vocal Sound Selection via the iTunes Store in Japan, including songs from Persona 4 Arena. Sega has released three digitally downloadable soundtrack albums featuring music from the Sega Saturn title NiGHTS into DREAMS..., available through iTunes and Amazon mp3. Brief excerpts of each music track can be sampled online, composed by Tomoko Sasaki, Naofumi Hataya and Fumie Kumatani.
