Kichijouji's METEOR game culture shop has opened this year's exhibition of fictitious 8-bit Famicom cartridges. The 2013 My Famicase Exhibition entries include Star Cats: Catnip Hunters, Family Bombputer, GAN! GAN! Junk Land Dash, and Elsewhere: Labyrinth of Cemetery. Today we are pleased to announce a collaboration with the METEOR game culture shop in Tokyo to create the FAMI-MODE 2012 DVD. Crowdfunding through Kickstarter this month, the movie features live performances by Sexy-Synthesizer, Omodaka, Penny and Ashtray, Kplecraft and Professor Sakamoto.

Tokyo's METEOR game culture shop will hold their annual all-night 8-bit party on January 26, 2013 at the Star Pine's Cafe venue in Kichijouji, Tokyo. This year the featured live music acts include game-inspired artists Omodaka, Sexy-Synthesizer, Kplecraft, Bokkadenci and JulieHally × Cartier Santos Sweet Lady.

French illustrator Adrien Dufond has designed an interactive online visualizer for Meteor's collection of fictitious 8-bit Famicom cartridges, featuring background music by Tomohiro Nagasaki. My Famicase Exhibition has been organized by game culture shop owner Satoshi Sakagami annually since 2005.

The Japan Times conducted an interview with Omodaka, a Tokyo-based chiptune artist who combines electronic music with traditional Japanese folk songs. According to the artist, "When the idea came to me to mix minyo and chiptune, I just had to do it."
