Independent developer Supergiant Games of Bastion received the 2012 Game Audio Network Guild award for best indie game soundtrack. Accepting the award at the Game Developers Conference were composer Darren Korb and narrator Logan Cunningham.
During the 2012 Independent Games Summit, three musicians laid out various unique concerns of composers for indie games. "The Indie Composer Speaks" panel featured brief talks by Laura Shigihara, Danny Baranowsky and Rich Vreeland (Disasterpeace).
Phil McCammon is composing non-linear music tracks for multiplayer racing game Krautscape, developed in Zürich, Switzerland. The game is designed by IGF nominee Mario von Rickenbach and Phil McCammon, who tonight performed live music at the Swissnex party at GDC.

The lecture "Build That Wall: Creating the Audio for Bastion" will cover steps in the musician's creative process, from crafting the title's "eclectic acoustic frontier trip-hop soundtrack and haunting vocal melodies, to its innovative reactive narration and sound effects."
Composer Austin Wintory will present at the 2012 Game Developers Conference on music for two independent games. Journey is being developed at ThatGameCompany and features sound design by Steve Johnson. Monaco by Andy Schatz won the top prize at the IGF in 2010.
