Xyce releases fifth album, entitled "papillons"

Dutch duo xyce (Tom 'xylo' Offringa and Roel 'cerror' Heerspink) have released their fifth album of gorgeous melody-driven chip music. Entitled "papillons," the 16 tracks, spanning Amiga 500, Atari ST1040e and Open ModPlug Tracker instrumentation, are streaming in full on the Cheapbeats Bandcamp page. Cover art is by m7kenji.

Atari's Greatest Hits free today on iOS

Atari is celebrating its 40th birthday by releasing a collection of 100 games, available for free download today for iPhone and iPad. Atari's Greatest Hits includes Pong, Missile Command, Asteroids and Centipede. All games will remain free to play until you remove or uninstall the app.

Stu charity Atari track on SoundCloud

Atari chip musician Stu has uploaded his track from the Chip In: Japan! fundraiser compilation to SoundCloud. "Toxic Seed" is a reflection on humankind's ability to damage our biggest treasure: planet earth. The track was composed shortly after the Tohoku earthquake and tsunamis.

Dallas outfit Tree Wave has titled their latest free EP "10 Inch." All instruments (Atari 2600's SynthCart, C64 equivalent CynthCart, and a firmware hacked Epson LQ500 dot-matrix printer) are of lead artist Paul Slocum's design.
