SQ Chips 2 preliminary track list revealed

Square Enix's latest chiptune arrange album, remixing themes from classic Square games, is due for release in Japan on July 25. Online retail stores have posted a preliminary track list for SQ Chips 2, revealing the participation of various chip music artists.

While the list appears to be mostly accurate, there are discrepancies between information posted on retails sites like tokka.com and tracks performed during the SQ Party Level 3 chiptune event at Studio 2.5D.

While DJ OMKT is credited as the arranger of "LIVE FOR LIVE," the track was performed at the event by Sexy-Synthesizer. DJ OMKT is also credited for "Clash on the Big Bridge," while that song, streaming on the official site, is listed there as an arrangement by "pocomeko."

In addition to these potential misprints, Saitone's arrangement of "Highwind Takes to the Skies" from Final Fantasy VII is noticeably absent from retailers' track lists. Expect slight updates to the lineup to be revealed closer to the release date of the compilation.
