I Wanna Be the Guy: Gaiden channels Bionic Commando

Comically brutal freeware platformer I Wanna Be the Guy now has a sequel by designer Michael "Kayin" O'Reilly.

In I Wanna Be the Guy: Gaiden - Act I, protagonist The Lad searches for The Kid while dodging dangerous spikes and fruits in a quest to end the tyranny of the nefarious Bald Bull. Bionic Commando-themed introductory stages, set to arrangements "Going Commando" by Gux and "Poweplant" by Simon Viklund, set the mood for the irreverent sequel.

Hometown's diabolical apple orchard also makes an appearance, together with the "Home Sweet Grave" theme by Yoshihiro Kusano from Guilty Gear, heard in I Wanna Be the Guy. Act I ends on a cliffhanger, indicating that further updates are planned.
