Nubuwo Winter Bundle gets Kickstarter Staff Pick
The Nubuwo Winter Bundle was chosen as a Kickstarter Staff Pick earlier today, joining a page set aside for the crowdfunding service's list of notable projects. Featuring eight albums of game-inspired music, the promotion will serve to fund the publication of the FAMI-MODE 2012 DVD in collaboration with METEOR.

The Nubuwo Winter Bundle has launched on Kickstarter, funding the FAMI-MODE 2012 DVD. The album bundle features in the INDIE PACK the soundtracks to Rainbow Moon, FTL (Faster Than Light), El Huervo Trilogy and Slipstream [ volume one ], and in the FAMI PACK, Mega Ran Fifth Anniversary, 8-Bit Jesus, Killed by Koopa Stage One and FAMI-MODE 2012 Live Recordings.
Announcing the FAMI-MODE 2012 DVD
Today we are pleased to announce a collaboration with the METEOR game culture shop in Tokyo to create the FAMI-MODE 2012 DVD. Crowdfunding through Kickstarter this month, the movie features live performances by Sexy-Synthesizer, Omodaka, Penny and Ashtray, Kplecraft and Professor Sakamoto.

Famicom keyboard player Professor Sakamoto joined game cover artist Hyadain to perform music from MOTHER and Earthbound live over Ustream. Archived videos from the Hobonichi Live show, which feature composers Keiichi Suzuki and Hip Tanaka joining in the arrangements, have been uploaded to YouTube.
FAMI-MODE 2013 scheduled for January 26
Tokyo's METEOR game culture shop will hold their annual all-night 8-bit party on January 26, 2013 at the Star Pine's Cafe venue in Kichijouji, Tokyo. This year the featured live music acts include game-inspired artists Omodaka, Sexy-Synthesizer, Kplecraft, Bokkadenci and JulieHally × Cartier Santos Sweet Lady.
Lightning Returns composers announced
A poster unveiled today by Square Enix at the Chicago Distant Worlds concert has announced the three music composers scoring Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Masashi Hamauzu, Naoshi Mizuta and Mitsuto Suzuki will be reprising their roles as series composers, following their contributions to Final Fantasy XIII-2.
King of Games presses 10th anniversary CD
The King of Games, designer of licensed Nintendo-themed t-shirts and parkas, has released an original album of chip music to commemorate their tenth anniversary. Samples of each track from KOG 2012 Xmas SP are available on Soundcloud, featuring music by Kplecraft, 6955, USK, Far East Recording and DJ Master Kohta.
Square Enix posts Final Fantasy Tribute previews
Square Enix has posted music previews for each track on the arrange album Final Fantasy Tribute -Thanks.- Due out on two discs this Wednesday in Japan, the compilation includes renditions of Final Fantasy series themes by De De Mouse, →Pia-no-jaC←, Schroeder-Headz, Drakskip, millstones and JABBERLOOP.
Mitsuda's Inazuma Eleven Go music excerpts online
The Avex record label has launched an official website for the film score to Inazuma Eleven GO vs. Danboru Senki W, based on the soccer game franchise by Level-5. Half-minute excerpts of music, written by Chrono Trigger composer Yasunoni Mitsuda for the animated motion picture, are available online.
Final Fantasy Vocal Collection album planned
Square Enix will publish the compilation album Final Fantasy Vocal Collection on January 30 in Japan under the catalog number SQEX-10360. The single-disc release is scheduled to include ten songs composed throughout the 25-year history of the RPG series, including "Eyes On Me," "Melodies of Life" and "Suteki da ne."
Final Fantasy Orchestral Album music samples online
Square Enix has posted the track list and first 16 excerpts of music from the Final Fantasy Orchestral Album, due out December 26 in Japan. Final Fantasy I~III medleys from 2002 and 2004, along with "Battle with the Four Fiends" and "Theme of Love" from Final Fantasy IV can be sampled on the official website.
Namco Sounds uploads Katamari Aventure Damacy
Namco Bandai Games' company netlabel has uploaded the three-track single Katamari Aventure Damacy to the iTunes Store, with brief samples available to stream online. The Namco Sounds release marks the third soundtrack album associated with the PlayStation Vita exclusive title Touch My Katamari.
Altema shares Bunny Soldier on Standby chip EP
Altema Records has released the debut chiptune vocals EP by Usaginoheitai wa Taiki (Bunny Soldier on Standby). Titled "Fictional Promptness," the five-track album, featuring cover art by Aya Ogasawara and pixel artist m7kenji, is available to stream in full online and download for free in mp3 format.
