Daniel Tidwell's guitar-driven metal tribute to composer Ryuji Sasai's music of Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest can be streamed in full on Bandcamp, including both the random battle and boss battle themes. Previously the guitarist for the Lords of Thunder band has released two cover albums entitled "Versus Video Games."
Celebrate Xevious's 30th with Namco's iOS Sound Player
Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the classic arcade shooter Xevious, the Namco Bandai netlabel Namco Sounds has released the Namco Sound Player for iPhone and iPad. The iOS application allows you reproduce the sounds and music of Xevious by tapping buttons on the touchscreen of your mobile device.
Final Fantasy V released for iPhone and iPad
Square Enix has released the iOS port of classic Super Famicom role-playing game Final Fantasy V, available in English-language territories for iPhone and iPad. Illustrator Kazuko Shibuya redesigned the character art for the mobile port, also featuring the original score by Nobuo Uematsu.
Tsuyoshi Sekito's Guitarworks Selection on iTunes
Square Enix in-house composer Tsuyoshi Sekito really likes to play the guitar. To demonstrate, the musician has published a ten-track compilation including some of his favorite guitar licks, from games including The Last Remnant, as well as the Black Mages concert series and the Final Fantasy VII Advent Children film.
TWEWY Crossover ~ Tribute live album announced

echochrome composer Hideki Sakamoto of the Tokyo-based Noisycroak studio has published the soundtrack to "Attack of the Friday Monsters: A Tokyo Tale," part of Level-5's Guild02 compilation for the Nintendo 3DS. A 1970's era coming of age story, every Friday giant monsters invade a 10 year-old boy's hometown of Setagaya, Tokyo.
Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded teaser by Austin Wintory
Journey composer Austin Wintory has shared the title track from his score to Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded. Based on an original composition by Al Lowe, written for the 1987 Apple II game Leisure Suit Larry and the Land of the Lounge Lizards, the loungy swing music theme is performed by the Late Night Jazz Orchestra.

Virt scores DuckTales Remastered and Shovel Knight
Jake Kaufman (Virt) is contributing music to two games with a similar pogo stick mechanic, developed by past and present Wayforward designers. DuckTales Remastered is an HD remake of the classic NES sidescroller, while Shovel Knight is an 8-bit stylized original property funded through Kickstarter.

First published in 2007, the music collections feature the interactive sounds and phrases found in the Lumines Live Rockin’ Holiday Pack for Xbox Live Arcade and Lumines II for PlayStation Portable.
Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster pre-orders open
Amazon has opened pre-orders for Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. The role-playing game's reveal trailer, featuring music by Nobuo Uematsu and Noriko Matsueda, is scheduled for release on March 25. The first round of screenshots have been posted to flickr.
ilomilo's Daniel Olsén publishes Year Walk soundtrack
Daniel Olsén, the composer of Southend Interactive's score for the puzzle game ilomilo, has published the soundtrack to Simogo Games' eerie iOS puzzler Year Walk. The 19-track score informed by Swedish folk music can be streamed in full through Bandcamp, featuring the song "Oh the Joy" by Jonathan Eng.
Vanillaware's Muramasa and Dragon's Crown trailers
Vanillaware's opening movie from Muramasa Rebirth for the PlayStation Vita portable console and Dragon's Crown trailer are now available to view on YouTube.
