The Avex record label has uploaded 14 samples from the two-disc soundtrack to Level-5's Fantasy Life for the Nintendo 3DS portable console. The original score is composed by Final Fantasy series composer Nobuo Uematsu and features arrangements by Tsutomu Narita and Michio Okamiya of the Earthbound Papas band.

Square Enix has partnered with Deadly Premonition developer Access Games on the forthcoming publication of Drakengard 3 for PlayStation 3. NieR and Drakengard director Yoko Taro is heading development, while music for the action role-playing game is being contributed by NieR composer Keiichi Okabe.

Kyoto-based chiptune netlabel Madmilky Records opens
Kyoto-based Game Boy artists Toriena and NNNNNNNNNN have launched chiptune netlabel Madmilky Records, dedicated to the creation of battery powered dance music. The label's debut release is Over Sleep Insomniac Maiden, composed by Blip Festival Tokyo featured artist Toriena, which includes four free-to-download mp3 files.
Toriena's 2.5D chip performance to stream on Ustream
Kyoto chiptune artist Toriena will play a live Game Boy set today at the Studio 2.5 D venue in Tokyo to mark the opening of Zigg.jp, a girls' DIY culture website. Music performances by the 1H1D!!! party regular and four additional artists will be broadcast live on Ustream, beginning at 7:00 pm JST.

Kenij Eno, unorthodox game creator, passes away
Kenji Eno, designer of the Sega Saturn titles D and Enemy Zero starring digital actress Laura, passed away on Wednesday from heart failure. He was 42. A musician with a passion for game scores, he wrote original music for Sega Rally 2 and D, and worked with film composer Michael Nyman on Enemy Zero.
The World Ends With You second live concert in May
Square Enix will be holding a second live music event in Shibuya on May 10, centering on songs from The World Ends With You for Nintendo DS and iPad. Composer Takeharu Ishimoto has uploaded live recordings of "Twister," "Tatakai" and "Calling" from the previous concert to his account on SoundCloud.
