James Primate of the chiptune group BR1GHT PR1MATE has made four of his indie game scores available for "name your price" through Bandcamp. Published by GameChops, the Mega Quad VideoGame Music Bundle includes Nanoloop and LSDJ music from Abrickadabra, Junk Jack, LiquidSketch and Tangled.
Sabaco hosts CheapBeats 6 chiptune event
Sabaco of Waseda, Tokyo will be host to the Cheapbeats 6 chiptune event, taking place Saturday, January 26 at 5:00 pm. The show will offer live chip music by Hally (Chiptuned Rockman), Bun (Final Fantasy X Chips), Aliceffect, Cheapshot and Minikomi (Blip Festival Tokyo) as well as visuals by m7kenji (FAMI-MODE).
Deeceem chips in 8-bit covers of Final Fantasy VII
Back in September, Square Enix published chiptune arrange album Final Fantasy VII Chips as part of the game frachise's 25th anniversary celebrations. Since then, musician Deeceem of Bielefeld, Germany has taken it upon himself to post his own low-fi fakebit remixes of the score by Nobuo Uematsu, created using FL Studio 9.
Otherman delivers Chiptunes Change Christmas
Otherman Records has released Chiptunes Change Christmas for free download, a yuletide bundle of chip music tracks curated by Tokyo artist Storz. The glitchtacular collection combines boisterous holiday-themed remixes and wintry original tunes by Blip Festival Tokyo performers Orloc, Toriena, Abortifacient and NNNNNNNNNN.
A_Rival on Street Fighter X Mega Man mashups

San Francisco-based chip-hop artist A_Rival has released the soundtrack to Street Fighter X Mega Man, an officially licensed PC freeware game coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the NES series. All 22 tracks, incorporating FamiTracker arrangements of themes from both franchises, are available for "name your price."

Famicom keyboard player Professor Sakamoto joined game cover artist Hyadain to perform music from MOTHER and Earthbound live over Ustream. Archived videos from the Hobonichi Live show, which feature composers Keiichi Suzuki and Hip Tanaka joining in the arrangements, have been uploaded to YouTube.
