Cave Story creator Daisuke Amaya of Studio Pixel has released an enhanced iOS edition of his game Azarashi for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, available through the Apple App Store. Azarashi challenges you to a game of darts where the very lives of adorable seals are at stake.
The 2012 Game Developers Choice Awards' nominees for Best Audio have been announced. They are Bastion by Supergiant Games, LittleBigPlanet 2 by Media Molecule, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim by Bethesda, Dead Space 2 by Visceral Games and Portal 2 by Valve.
Supergiant Games has uploaded a new video of two pieces performed by the makers of Bastion from the soundtrack album. The movie marks the first time audio director and composer Darren Korb and vocalist Ashley Barrett have been filmed playing music from the game.
Game designer Wollay is providing original music for Cube World (tentative title), a voxel-based open world role-playing game, created using C++, DirectX and custom voxel software, in development since June of last year. Titled "Dear Mr. Minecraft," the nine-track compilation aims to reinterpret compositions written by game composer C418 in a variety of electronic music styles.
C418, the composer of Mojang's popular sandbox game Minecraft, has released an 18-track collection through Bandcamp for "name your price." Titled "Seven Years of Server Data," the album is comprised of older compositions, along with some more recent remixes.

Retro City Rampage co-composer Leonard Paul of Lotus Audio will be presenting at the 2012 Game Developers Conference on Strange Loop Games' independently developed title Vessel. "Techniques of dynamic sound design will examine the methods of sequencing, layering, layered sequencing, spectral layering, effects parameter modulation, asymmetric loops and granulation."

The lecture "Build That Wall: Creating the Audio for Bastion" will cover steps in the musician's creative process, from crafting the title's "eclectic acoustic frontier trip-hop soundtrack and haunting vocal melodies, to its innovative reactive narration and sound effects."
Trine series composer Ari Pulkkinen has released the special edition soundtrack to Trine 2 by Frozenbyte, out this week on Steam, Xbox 360 and PlayStation Network. The album includes 21 music tracks found in the game, along with two additional orchestral renditions, and can be purchased as mp3s or flac files by credit card through the artist's Aritunes website.
Chip musician Inverse Phase has released the soundtrack to space shooter Shuttle Scuttle, developed by Embraceware for iOS and Mac. The 17-track NES-influenced album is available to stream online in full and purchase through Bandcamp. The artist's previous releases include Super Smash Land and Retrocovered.
