OverClocked remixes Apex fighting game tournament
Online game arrangement community OverClocked ReMix has teamed up with the Apex 2013 fighting game tournament, taking place this weekend. Their compilation "Straight to the Top," free-to-download from the website, arranges music from Persona 4 Arena and other fighting games involved in the competition.
Adventure Time 3DS score on SoundCloud
D3 Publisher has uploaded the soundtrack to Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!! to SoundCloud. The 35-track Nintendo 3DS score, composed by Jake Kaunfman (Virt) of Retro City Rampage and Double Dragon Neon, features singing by Tommy Pedrini, Cristina Vee and Jessie Seely.
Composer Joe Hisaishi talks Wrath of the White Witch
In the latest behind-the-scenes movie uploaded to publisher Namco Bandai's YouTube Channel, Joe Hisaishi discusses his score for developer Level-5's PlayStation 3 RPG Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. The composer is perhaps best known for his contributions to Princess Mononoke and other Studio Ghibli animated films.

Ytcracker raps to EarthBound
Ytcracker (Bryce Case) began rapping in 1998, contributing to the burgeoning genre of nerdcore hip-hop. On EarthBound: Adventures of the Sound Stone, available for "name your price" through Bandcamp, the musician raps to six songs from the Super Nintendo role-playing game score, composed by Keiichi Suzuki and Hip Tanaka.
LegVacuum 2 by Armcannon debuts on Bandcamp
The third album by game cover band Armcannon has debuted at the top of the Bandcamp charts and is available to stream in full online. LegVacuum 2 features rock covers of music from Killer Instinct, Mega Man 3, Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger, mixed and mastered by Danimal Cannon in Buffalo, New York.
Team label to publish Soul Sacrifice soundtrack
Record label Team Entertainment will publish the soundtrack album to PlayStation Vita-exclusive action RPG Soul Sacrifice on March 13 in Japan. Composed by Yasunori Mitsuda (Xenogears) and Wataru Hokoyama (Afrika), the game score is being performed by a full-size orchestra at Skywalker Sound.
IGF 2013 announces Excellence in Audio finalists
The Game Developers Conference's Independent Games Festival has announced the 2013 finalists for the Excellence in Audio award category. They are Kentucky Route Zero (Cardboard Computer), Bad Hotel (Lucky Frame), 140 (Jeppe Carlsen), Hotline Miami (Dennaton Games) and PixeljJunk 4am (Q-Games).
Mega Ran's Time and Space incorporates requests
Hip-hop artist Random, aka Mega Ran, has released a collection of rap songs through Bandcamp, requested by Kickstarter backers. Supporters of the musician sent track recommendations through the crowdfunding website, including music from Final Fantasy Tactics, Earthworm Jim and Mega Man X.
Monster Hunter 2012 Orchestral Concert samples
Capcom's sound team homepage has posted ten streaming samples from the Monster Hunter 2012 Orchestral Concert album. The two-disc release features performances by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, with vocalist Ikuko, shakuhachi and shamisen duo HIDE-HIDE and Capcom composer group BlackLute.
