Tokyo-based Game Boy artist Kunio (Masuo Yamamoto) has posted a 14-minute selection from his Mega Rock Fan Festa pre-party set, performed at Shinjuku's 16SHOTS game bar. Also available for download from SoundCloud is the musician's Mega Man vs MC Hammer chiptune mashup "E-CAN't Touch This."
Naoshi Mizuta shares FFXI anniversary remix
Square Enix is marking the eleventh anniversary of massively multiplayer RPG Final Fantasy XI by launching a new portal website featuring celebratory illustrations by artist Yusuke Naora. Composer Naoshi Mizuta has posted a new arrangement of his "Grand Duchy of Jeuno" theme, composed in 2002, for free download in mp3 format.
Vagrant Story digital soundtrack on iTunes
Square Enix has released the 31-track digital soundtrack to PlayStation 2 action role-playing game Vagrant Story through iTunes, composed by Final Fantasy XII composer Hitoshi Sakimoto. An exhibition of illustrator Akihiko Yoshida's concept art from the game is currently on display at the Artnia Store in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
Etrian Odyssey: Millennium Maiden trailers
Atlus has posted the first two trailers for Nintendo 3DS role-playing game New Etrian Odyssey: Millennium Maiden. The game, planned for release on June 27 in Japan, features music by series composer Yuzo Koshiro, including new acoustic arrangements of "Green Green Woodlands" and "Initial Strike" from Etrian Odyssey.

DJ Kaya's Military Tune EP remixes PS1 era Square
DJ Kaya has released an EP of PlayStation era Square remixes through iTunes, entitled Military Tune Lost Memories. "A Chance Meeting" from Threads of Fate and "Manifold Irons" from Front Mission first appeared on Square Enix's 2012 Tokyo Game Show Sampler CD and on the digital soundtrack to Front Mission Evolved.
Yoshitaka Amano art exhibition opens in Shinjuku
A free exhibition of artworks by illustrator Yoshitaka Amano has opened at the Shinjuku i-Land Tower building in Tokyo. The exhibition, taking place during Golden Week and featuring drawings of Vampire Hunter D, as well as concept art from installments in the Final Fantasy game series, will run until Tuesday, May 7.
TWEWY Crossover ~ Tribute album samples online
Square Enix has uploaded three lengthy excerpts from The World Ends With You Crossover ~ Tribute, an album due for release on June 19 in Japan, featuring music from the GREE social game and November TWEWY concert. "Revelation" and "March On" are composed by Takeharu Ishimoto and performed by series vocalist Sawa.
Ninja Gaiden's Yamagishi scores Fluffy for iPhone
Ninja Gaiden composer Keiji Yamagishi has provided the music score for developer Vanguard's platforming iPhone app Fluffy. "The reason I chose Fluffy," the composer says, "is that I have never written music for a cute fantasy action game before, though I've long been interested in giving it a go."
Chocobo Sound Effects CD exclusive to Artnia Store
Square Enix's Chocobo Sound Effects Collection CD has been made available for sale exclusively at the Artnia Store, located at the company's new offices in Nishi Shinjuku. The 500 yen limited edition release includes 99 sound files, full of chocobo kweh's and moogle kupo's from throughout the Final Fantasy game series.
Final Fantasy IV~VI soundtrack albums remastered
Square Enix will be re-releasing the soundtracks to Super Famicom role-playing games Final Fantasy IV through VI with remastered audio, beginning with the first two-disc album of the trilogy on July 3. Music for all three titles is by series composer Nobuo Uematsu, while cover art is by illustrator Yoshitaka Amano.
Yuzo Koshiro's Time and Eternity soundtrack previewed
NIS America will publish the PlayStation 3-exclusive role-playing game Time and Eternity on July 16 in North America, featuring music by Etrian Odyssey series composer Yuzo Koshiro. An eight-minute crossfade movie previewing the two-disc soundtrack release can be viewed via the Sweeprecord label's YouTube channel.
Madmilky's Gravitonberry Jam EP by NNNNNNNNNN
Game Boy artist NNNNNNNNNN has made Gravitonberry Jam, the second EP released by Kyoto-based netlabel Madmilky Records, available for free download in mp3 format. "Microvoid," "Les Fleurs du mal," "Gravitonberry fields forever" and "PPPP3P" are also available to stream in full through SoundCloud.
