If you need convincing that there are countless possible ways to arrange "Eternal Winds" from Final Fantasy III for various instruments, 17 examples can be found on Game Music Garden. The numerous Nico Nico videos embedded in a recent post are responses to Square Enix's arrangement contest, closing next week.

The entries include orchestral arrangements by Last Elixir Wind Orchestra, Cosmo Sky Orchestra and the Tokyo Fantasic Brass Band. More idiosyncratic approaches include a hacked Famicom piece by NES Band, a recorder trio by Rexage, as well as arrangements making use of the miniature piano, mandolin, otamatone and even household kitchenware.

Final Fantasy III, featuring music by Nobuo Uematsu, is due out for the PlayStation Portable console on September 20 in Japan.
