Square Enix has announced that the Nintendo DS and iOS remake of Final Fantasy III will be available for the PlayStation Portable on September 20 in Japan.

The mobile, turn-based role-playing game will allow the option of playing to the 8-bit Famicom or enhanced, arranged music score for the game, composed by Nobuo Uematsu. There is no word yet whether the PSP edition will see a release in English-language regions.

Square Enix will be holding an arrangement contest for the music track "Eternal Wind" through Nico Nico Video until the end of July. Composer Tsuyoshi Sekito has submitted a sample rock arrangement to kick things off.
