Andy Baio of Waxy.org organized Kind of Bloop, a chiptune jazz album celebrating the historic Miles Davis album.

Funded through Kickstarter, the compilation was a tremendous success, but not without cost. The sprite art cover of Davis caught the attention of attorneys representing New York photographer Jay Maisel, and the organizer writes in a blog entry posted this morning that he wound up settling out of court over alleged copyright violations for $32,500.
